Big Wood tells Little Wood that Mighty Fire Breaker (MFB) has the best sustainable conservation plan in the global mass timber movement. The MFB plan has been to defend the carbon storage, reduce insurance risk premiums, and to create carbon trade for fire, mold and moisture by defending Mass Timber structures.

Now, with the forest mainly providing just juvenile lumber, the need for mass timber is even greater. Juvenile, new growth wood comes from tree farms where trees grow much faster than in natural forests. The trees are spaced further apart so there is less competition for light and nutrients. This creates faster harvesting, well before trees are fully mature at 120 years or more. This faster harvesting helps us to meet the demands of new housing and juvenile trees sequester CO2 faster than old growth trees

Big Wood tells Little Wood that very few humans understand why mass timber needs to be the future product that can revolutionize how the world builds to meet the demand for shelter. Most producers and builders think it because of the human labor shortage and to increase margins and spin sustainable. This is what Mr. Conboy has been saying for years: That a balanced build is similar to a balanced diet, in that if humans only eat meat they would not be heathy. They must add greens to their diet. Mr. Conboy’s balanced build means less vertical concrete and steel is used in a structure’s composition.

While Mass Timber construction is capturing the imaginations of leading building and design professionals throughout the world, there is only one person screaming with his White Paper and Patented Mass Timber Fire Protection. Steve tried to convince the General Contractors about Mass Timber in 2017, when the University of British Columbia, Brock Common 18 story student housing prototype was built on wall panel property.
